We are proud to announce that York Speed Skating Club (YSSC) has been officially recognized as the 25th Speed Skating Club in Ontario! At YSSC, we offer year-round training programs tailored for skaters of all levels—from beginners to aspiring elite athletes. Our programs are designed with a strong emphasis on developing solid skating fundamentals, helping each skater progress toward their full potential with the ultimate goal of becoming a top-level speed skater.
Our athletes train under the expert guidance of world-class coach Krisztina Papp, fondly known as Coach Tina. With her wealth of experience and dedication, Coach Tina inspires and cultivates talent and passion in every skater who steps on the ice.

Skaters of all skills welcomed!
At York Speed Skating Club we’re excited to welcome skaters of all ages and experience levels. Some of our members are as young as 3.5 years old and just starting out on the ice, while others have been skating for multiple years and now compete at Regional, Provincial, and National level competitions, including events in the United States.
Many skaters with backgrounds in hockey, figure skating, or inline skating find they adapt more quickly to speed skating. That said, no previous experience is needed, just enthusiasm and a willingness to learn!
The skaters often see great progress early on, but mastering technique and moving into racing takes time, dedication, and practice. We’re here to help every skater enjoy the journey and reach their full potential!
